L. Nguyen grew up in San Jose, California.  He attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Film & Video.  It was in college that his interest in music was sparked.  In the Spring of 1999, he completed his very first album.  Recorded mostly in his parents' room at their house in San Jose, the project was known as All-American Girls, and was released on audio tape.  His musical influences include Superdrag, Mojave 3, and Low, among other things.  He is 26 years-old, and currently resides in the Bay Area.      L.
